Adsorbers

Adsorbers are a crucial part of the cryogenic system. Helium compressors have moving internal parts to generate pressure which forces helium gas to the Coldhead. Oil provides lubrication but must remain separate from the Coldhead. The oil separator inside of the compressor prevents oil from reaching the Coldhead.

The Adsorber does the remaining filtering allowing only pure helium gas to exit the compressor and eventually reach the Coldhead.

Once the Adsorbers internal filtering medium reaches saturation it will allow oil mist to exit the compressor, and subsequently reach the Coldhead, When this occurs, it causes your Adsorber to fail. We recommend Adsorber replacement every 2-3 years.

Adsorbers are cost efficient and require a minimal replacement procedure. If you have a tech on-site, we will work with you on replacing this safety feature on your cryogenic system.
